Delegation of Perm school No. 2 came back home from the Celestial Empire where Perm educationalists met with their Chinese counterparts.

Qingdao (means "green island") is a sub-provincial city in eastern Shandong province, China. Qingdao is washed by the Yellow Sea. The city is located on the southern coast of the Shandong Peninsula and is a major seaport, naval base and industrial centre. The population is over 2.5 million people.

The history of relationship between Perm and Qingdao began in June 1998. Then, the first delegation from Qingdao visited Perm at the invitation of the Perm Chapter of the World Peace Foundation. In October 2003, another Chinese delegation visited Perm and the Protocol of Intent between the two cities was signed. Business relations continued for several years, and in November 2006, Perm officials visited Qingdao. During that visit there was signed an Agreement on a Friendship Link between Perm and Qingdao.

Last year nearly 500 Russian school students visited China at the invitation of Hu Jintao, leader of the People's Republic of China/ And about 200 Russian students visited Qingdao. At the meeting with Ludmila Sukhanova, headmaster of Perm Advanced School No.2, Qingdao officials expressed willingness to receive school students from Perm in summer-2011.

According to Ludmila Sukhanova, Perm students will be happy to visit Perm's partner city as they are really motivated - they have been learning the Chinese language for 2 years already. A variety of activities will be available for them to take part in, so that they can enjoy the full experience of one of the most historic cities in China.

Perm educationalists representing Perm Advanced School No.2 met with teachers and students of several Qingdao schools including Qingdao Middle School No.2 and Qingdao Experimental School No.2. Perhaps, thanks to the magic of numbers but 3 agreements on cooperation were signed by Perm and Qingdao sides. Within these agreements exchanges of students and teachers, joint educational projects are planned to be held.

Qingdao delegation is plannuing to visit Perm in May-June 2011.
